Thureeyam Music Fest at Payyannur Off to a flier. Inaugurated by living legend Hariprasad Chaurasya alongside Vani Jayaram,Soorya Krishna Moorthy.Capacity crowd at Ayodhya Auditorium had a very nice evening. I was a bit hesitant knowing that the entry fee is a huge amount and unusual for a performance of a short period. But by the end of the programme the satisfaction I got was invaluable. Not only that I had a view of these great personaliies but the musical treat had brought immense joy  . I was proud that I could enjoy the concert alongside Vani Jayaram .She was present in the front row to enjoy the concert. The crowd was very dignified enjoying every moment of the programme with gentle hand claps. Starting with Yaman Kalyani concert showered the joy of Mohana Raga in between,then the beautiful Peelu Raga and Pahady to finish with.Chaurasya won the heart of the audience not only with his blessed talent with the Bansuri but with his humility and occasional jokes. Flute the  simplest  of music instruments made of bamboo ,produce amazing tunes when kissed and touched by the great artist.Chaurasya jee looked aged but there was no shade of ageing on his performance. I made up my mind to attend as many concert as possible during the weeklong festival. EarlierSoorya Krishna Moorthy expressed his displeasure over the coverage given to the film industry and Cricket and exhorted the music lovers to react to the evils in the society. He added that an artist can be called as an artist only when he shows his commitment to the society. He also  expressed his happiness on the large turnout who had turned up to enjoy pure music Let heavenly music shower peace and happiness on the people who are wandering around in this turbuant world full of miseries and bring harmony and peace.
